Family Session FAQ
Say goodbye to posed photos. Forget about the perfect outfit or dragging the kids to a beach where they can't play. I won't ask you to say cheese or bring trendy props with me. I don't have a hard time limit on our time together- life doesn't happen in 1 hour.
What will you photograph?
Your family, or event, candidly as it happens. I'll get to know you prior to our session and find out what is meaningful to you, your favorite things about your family, and be sure to look for these moments during our time together.
Where should we have a session?
I love working in your home. It doesn't have to be perfect- almost no one's is! It's where most of your memories take place, and if you ever move you'll be able to look back and have great photographs from that time in your life. We can also pick a location that is meaningful to you such as a coffee shop you frequent or your families favorite hang out.
I'm not sure I'll love candid photos of myself.
Nonsense. As a society, we are always looking to be "more like" the perfect ___, but your kids won't care if you haven't lost that last ten pounds. They love you and know you as you are! You'll love the genuine emotion and connection I capture of your family.
Can you help me with our wardrobe?
Yes! Whether you want to look casual put together or need help picking out outfits for the whole family, I'm available to help you find pieces that work. Our studio has a client wardrobe we can look through to find inspiration as well!
What should I do with documentary photographs after our session?
If you're here, you probably enjoy my work and are familiar with my shooting style. Every session includes a photo album (lay-flat or loose) that I'll be shooting for. There will be plenty of gorgeous wall-ready artwork as well, and at our design consultation I'll be able to show you how amazing they would look on your walls.
How do I receive my photographs?
Upon booking, we will have created the perfect package to suit your needs- be it beautiful wall art, albums, or prints. After our session, I'll get to work and perfect the photographs I took during our time together. Within 2-3 weeks, your proofs will be ready to choose from, and upon your approval I'll order the final products.
I'm ready to book! What's next?
Great! Fill out my contact form below to start planning. A retainer of $250 is due at the time of booking, and the remaining balance due by the day of our session (birth is a little different). I will email you the contracts and a few fun forms to fill out right away- these are extremely important for me to get to know you and your family.
