When you hire me for a fresh 48 photography session, I am "on call" similar to birth photography, but instead of showing up when you're in active labor I come to the hospital after you've had the baby. I do offer a package where I'll show up immediately after birth, but typically a fresh 48 session happens later in the afternoon or next morning depending on time of birth. Most mother's who opt for a fresh 48 enjoy having time to shower and recover a bit from labor and can even do a little makeup if they desire. Fresh 48 sessions are also great for documenting when the siblings meet new baby for the very first time, or if grandparents from out of town are traveling in and would like to be included in the first photographs. Unlike a posed newborn session, this is somewhat "fly on the wall" as I quietly observe how in love you are with your new one, and only give direction when needed.Read More
While in Hawaii I had to take advantage of having photographs done of me and my little pineapple baby. She might not have been born there, but oh man she is everything that symbolizes my time in Hawaii (and she sure was concieved there, lol)! My friend Ariel of Everlasting Imagery was so kind to photograph the two of us at one of the few locations I never got to shoot at and always wanted to visitRead More
When we first got orders to Hawaii, I was secretly a little bummed. Coming from Florida, I was looking forward to living somewhere with seasons and snow. Plus it's super far away and expensive.
I didn't expect it to grow on me like it did! I'll always feel like Hawaii is home. It's the most beautiful place, with crystal clear teal waters, soft sand, and lots of aloha. The FOOD to die for, and there's always a gentle breeze. Getting off the airplane you immediately notice the smell of flowers everywhere.Read More
This sweet little family is stationed here at Fort Leonard Wood as well currently, and I was excited to take them to Happy Hollow for little man's first birthday photos and some family shots. Mom and Dad were totally on board with relaxed photos without saying "cheese", and we played a little and just enjoyed the morning while capturing their playful interactions and smiles.
And cake.Read More
Have you ever wanted to bottle up a moment and keep it forever? That's basically how I've been feeling ever since I had our third child, Madeline. She's spunky, spirited, and OH SO sweet. And gosh darn, the kid keeps growing right before my eyes!Read More
One of the benefits of having a homebirth was no immediate bath. Madeline was dried off and the vernix was rubbed in. Some benefits to allowing this is reduced risk of infection, improved temperature control, improved maternal bonding, no baby lotion required (vernix is natures baby lotion), and stabilized infant blood sugar. We finally decided it was time, and BOY did she have a lot to say about it!Read More
