P52 Week 34 - Bellows Beach, Oahu Hawaii

This week we finished up Grandma's visit with a busy schedule. Many beach visits, the USS Arizona and USS Missouri, lunch and dinner dates, a loop around the island, and a Luau. Paradise Cove has my favorite dinner show, and Grandma had a great time! Charlie got selected to be a honorary hula dancer and was such a trip.

A Fun babymoon maternity session

How does spending the afternoon doing your favorite things together sound? What about having a photographer document it? I love that their child will be able to look back at these photographs and see how in love his parents are, their little Hawaiian home, and some of their daily routine.

Shayla and Coty's Muddy Hike

When we brainstormed some session ideas, hiking came to mind. Shayla told me they were a fun loving, laid back couple that had recently relocated to Oahu, and wanted to have some photos that reflected their great personalities. So to get their butts off the couch I decided it was time to encourage a family hike. This hasn't happened other than one very grouchy not fun sunrise hike to the Makapu'u Lighthouse. There was bribes made, dinner thrown in the crock pot, and we all piled into my Focus to head to the other side of the island.

Welcome Home, Friend!

I truly adore this family, who were among the first friends I met here (and have kept me sane). I also LOVE homecomings, so when I was asked to document this very special moment of their reunion after months apart I was over the moon. Their older daughter was SO EXCITED to finally hug daddy again- she couldn't wait, even though it was 4 am.

My Uke and I

I was asked to photograph a friend of mine who recently discovered a love for the ukulele. We decided to grab the girls (my eldest wanted to tag along with her friends) and hop in the car. The day was dreary, it was sprinkling throughout the drive, Lydia sang mmbop (ok, it wasn't actually Hanson but it could have been)
